A decade of experience

​For over a decade, Platinum Consort, directed by Scott Inglis-Kidger, has been the leading provider of high-quality choral workshops in the UK, attracting singers from Europe, the USA, Canada, and even as far as Japan, Qatar and Australia. Expert and enlightening vocal coaching is at the heart of what we do. You will explore compelling repertoire in one of our beautiful London homes: the riverside church of St Mary’s, Battersea and the candlelit choir stalls of St Barnabas, Pimlico.

We offer in person workshops under three themes: Flagship Workshops, Early Nights and Bach Club. During the Covid-19 pandemic we also established our inaugural online workshops: Virtual Vocals. Do read below to find out more and, if you're new to Platinum, please register yourself as a singer in the first instance.

FLAGSHIP WORKSHOPS

Our Flagship workshops take place on Saturdays in the beautiful riverside church of St Mary's, Battersea, where the workshops were founded. The repertoire is vast and has in the past included Tallis' Spem in alium, Kodaly's Missa Brevis, Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony and Bach's Magnificat. Scott Inglis-Kidger directs a group of around 45 singers and is often joined by Associate Musical Director, Ghislaine Morgan, for the afternoon session. The day runs from 10:30-17:00 and you are provided with homemade cakes, real coffee and Yorkshire tea. We keep the standard high, so good sight-reading or prior preparation is expected. We don't perform to an audience, but do sing the music through at the end. We often find ourselves de-briefing in the Woodman pub afterwards...

BACH CLUB

Exploring the complete cycle of sacred cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach at St Mary's Church, Battersea.

Join us on a journey of discovery as we continue to sing the complete choruses and chorales of Bach's cycle of sacred cantatas. Good sight-reading or excellent preparation required! The day runs in a very similar way to our Flagship Workshops with the slight difference being that we tend to sing through each Cantata separately during the day , rather than singing everything at the end.​

Early Nights

Our Early Nights sessions are for those of you who love singing polyphony in chamber-sized groups. Normally under thirty in number, these Monday evening workshops feel very intimate, with almost individual attention given to the singers. Join us in the beguiling setting of St Barnabas Church, Pimlico for a perfect end-of-day wind down.

Virtual Vocals

During the first Covid-19 lockdown we established a programme of online choral workshops: Virtual Vocals. We held over 40 workshops online with singers joining us from all over the world. The beauty of this is that all of our beautiful HD broadcasts are now available as online courses on our website, with expert vocals recorded in-house by Scott Inglis-Kidger and Miranda Ostler, giving you the sense of singing in a professional ensemble. These courses include Victoria Requiem, Monteverdi Beatus Vir and Bach's Jesu Meine Freude, ​and are available now for On Demand participation.
