WHY SUPPORT PLATINUM ?Peter West, Trustee of Platinum Choral Foundation, explains why funding is vital to our future... There are millions of good causes in the world and, at a time of recession, millions of people needing support. I agree, and I support a number of major charities. But in each case, my money does not make a difference, except in a very, very small way, because of the vast size of the problems and the scale of aid, relative to my contribution.
If you support performance arts, particularly choral music, you may already have a favourite group which you are able to support. We are asking you to think about supporting Platinum Choral Foundation as well. By supporting Platinum Choral Foundation, you will have a chance to make a real difference to a musical endeavour that we, its supporters, believe will repay your contribution many times over – not financially but in the pleasure of both hearing their music and in seeing them develop to what we believe will be the highest level. Scott Inglis-Kidger is an inspirational director and we, the Platinum Choral Foundation, are confident that he will achieve his aspirations for the Platinum ensembles – and more! As a supporter, you will have a chance to watch the development at first hand and share in the pleasure and pride that we believe it will bring when you join the Platinum “family”. Serious professional artistic endeavours are always difficult to start but the right launch is crucial for what comes after. We are sure that Platinum will soar but to make that possible we need resources to launch this latest stage of development – funding for recording and rehearsal time, sponsorship for concerts, bursaries for young singers to gain access to what the Platinum Consort and Platinum Boys' Choir have to offer. So please don’t stop giving to the good causes you already support. But do support the Platinum Trust and become part of a very exciting development in choral singing. Peter West Trustee |
