Platinum's period instrument band
​
The Platinum vision always included forming an in-house period instrument orchestra. However, this took time to realise due to high costs and our primary focus on choral education and developing a professional vocal consort. After significant fundraising, we launched our orchestra at our Handel Messiah at St John’s Smith Square on 18th November 2023. The performance was met with great acclaim from a sold-out audience. Previously, we collaborated with the Hanover Band and the OAE for similar events. These collaborations were valuable learning experiences, but we felt the time was right to establish our own ensemble, completing the Platinum family, which now includes a professional vocal consort, choristers, a choral workshop programme, and a period instrument orchestra. Director Scott Inglis-Kidger and Concert Master, Conor Gricmanis, are working closely to develop Platinum 415.
