CHORAL WORKSHOPS 2014
Following a hugely successful year of workshops in 2013, I am very proud and excited to introduce the 2014 season. We are presenting eight Saturday workshops this year, each with its own theme.
I am particularly looking forward to the Tippett Spirituals workshop - something rather different for Platinum - and also In Every Corner Sing, which brings back fond memories of singing daily services as a choral scholar at King's College, Cambridge.
Every workshop has been designed to challenge the seasoned chamber singer and the experienced choral singer who wants to work on new repertoire in much smaller groups than they are used to. As always, for you to get the most out of these days, we expect you to have prepared the music in advance, or be very good sight readers. If you come prepared, I guarantee you will learn something new.
I am pleased that our team remains the same for 2014: Adrienne Carr will be managing the workshops while Ghislaine Morgan and I will inspire you to become better singers and explore glorious new repertoire. Please see below for booking details.
Thank you very much for your ongoing enthusiasm; I very much look forward to seeing you in 2014.

BRITTEN MISSA BREVIS
A workshop for Upper Voices (SSA) with organ
Also including: Fauré Ave Verum Fauré Maria, Mater gratie The work is incredibly fresh and original. Part of this is Britten’s organ part which is no ‘accompaniment’ but rather an equal partner in the realisation of the text in music. Britten’s direction in the Kyrie that the voices should sing ‘passionately’ underpins the approach to the performance of the whole work. It is an intensely dramatic reading of these familiar words. © Paul Spicer Saturday, 18th October 2014 10:30-17:00 (Registration from 10am) Cost: £40 (includes break time refreshments) St Mary's Church, Battersea Church Road, London SW11 3NA |
