Flagship Workshops

Our Flagship Workshops take place on Saturdays in the beautiful riverside church of St Mary's, Battersea, where the workshops were founded. The repertoire is vast and has in the past included Tallis' Spem in alium, Kodaly's Missa Brevis, Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony and Handel’s Israel in Egypt. We also have an ongoing series of workshops called ‘Bach Club’, in which we are working our way through the choruses and chorales of J. S. Bach’s complete cantatas.

Scott Inglis-Kidger directs a group of around 40 singers, sometimes joined by our Associate Musical Director, Ghislaine Morgan. The day runs from 10:30-17:00 and you are provided with homemade cakes, real coffee and Yorkshire tea. We keep the standard high, so good sight-reading or prior preparation is expected. We don't perform to an audience, but do sing the music through at the end. We often find ourselves de-briefing in the Woodman pub afterwards...

Chamber Weekenders

Our newest type of workshop, our Chamber Weekenders take place over a full weekend (Friday evening, Saturday all day and Sunday afternoon) in the beautiful St Barnabas Church, Pimlico. The weekender is designed to challenge and stimulate experienced choral singers in a chamber setting. They are best suited to those who enjoy singing and feel confident in chamber-sized groups. That said, we welcome those who haven't sung the repertoire before. We work quickly with only limited note-bashing, and we keep the group small, so we expect you to prepare music in advance or be a proficient sight-reader. Repertoire so far has ranged from Monteverdi Sestina and a semi-staged Purcell Dido & Aeneas, to Viadana Missa Defunctorum and settings of When David Heard.
